Appiltech’s AI Series Intelligent Pump Controller (AIPC) is an off-the-shelf pump controller ready to meet you pumping needs with no programming required and is SCADA ready.  Install it, configure it for your application using the built-in HMI, and your up and running.  All AIPC components are top quality proven off-the-shelf industrial control products.  Therefore, there is no reliance on custom proprietary equipment, making long-term maintenance support easy and reliable.

The AIPC is designed to be used in both “pump up” (tank and pressure maintenance) applications and “pump down” (sump/wetwell) applications.  The AIPC functionality includes:

  • Control of one (1) to four (4) pumps driven by Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Softstarts, or across the line starters
  • Controlled via analog level sensors (single or dual), optional secondary flow sensor OR float switches.  It is designed to use an optional (recommended) Hi and Low alarm float switches for hardwired failsafe operation in the event of primary level sensor failure
  • Lead/Lag1/Lag2/Lag3 pump control with manual or automatic alternation (selectable anywhere from every cycle to monthly on a given day and time)
  • Configurable/selectable inputs (analog and digital)
  • Configurable/selectable outputs (analog and digital)
  • Operator selectable interface display units (level or pressure)
  • Automatic sensor conversion of native sensor units to selected display units
  • Can be used for fluids other than water by entering fluid specific gravity.  This automatically corrects unit conversions
  • Easy installation in both new and retrofit applications
  • Designed with a critical failsafe feature that ensures basic system operation in the unlikely event of a system processor failure.  This prevents a complete water system failure or wastewater sump overflow and EPA violation
  • SCADA ready with Modbus serial or Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP) communication port.  Unit can be supplied with integral communications modem (radio, leased phone line, dialup, or wireless Ethernet)
  • The Appiltech’s AIPCs work seamlessly with Appiltech’s Universal SCADA Engine (USE)

User configuration is done via the operator interface with easy step-by-step configuration screens. Access to configuration screens is password protected by an operator selectable password. If our standard AI Series Intelligent Pump Controller does not exactly fit your needs, Appiltech will gladly work with you to provide a controller that exactly fits your needs.

Basic system I/O:

  • If the application is for a fluid other than water, fluid density is entered so that unit conversions are automatically adjusted for fluid used
  • Lead/Lag1/Lag2/Lag3 start and stop levels input using selected display units.
