Solve your SCADA Problems with the Universal SCADA Engine
Applitech has developed the Universal SCADA Engine (USE) based on using industry standard Modbus messaging. The Universal SCADA Engine allows our customers to read and write to 150 Modbus slave devices, each with different Modbus communications parameters. This finally provides our customers with a no hassle way to get information from and control their existing or new Modbus devices.
Polls up to 150 Modbus (MB) Slave devices (Read and/or Write)
Stores up to 5000 16-bit registers for MB slave read and/or to write data
Communicates with MB slaves via any multi-drop network supporting RS-232 or 485 such as Leased line modems, Dial-up modems, radio, microwave and RS-485 (2 or 4 wire)
Communicates with SCADA computer or automation system via Ethernet using industry standard Modbus TCP/IP
Settable Timed cycle polling with operator forced polling of individual addresses
Unsolicited report by exception supported
Easy, no hassle, configuration software
Global setup for all communications parameters common to all MB slave devices
Individualized setup parameters available for each entry to allow connection to multiple types of MB slave devices such as mix of MB ASCII and RTU protocols, baud rates, etc.
Typical SCADA applications:
Potable Water distribution systems
Water/Waste Water pumping stations
Gas/Oil Line Distribution Systems
Electrical Utility Substation Applications
Industrial/Commercial Electrical metering and billing applications
Remote Customer Inventory Maintenance for supply management
Specifications:
5000 registers available for user configurable data storage of read/write data from up to 150 Modbus addresses
For example the user can configure to poll/read 20 registers from 150 Modbus slave devices plus write 13 registers to each address, or read 100 registers from 50 Modbus addresses
Polling:
Poll can be set for continuous, or intervals from 1 sec to 18 hours, or scheduled for a specific time
Can force poll of any address/entry and any time
Each address/entry can be individually enabled/disabled for polling
All enabled writes are performed prior to that address read
Modbus Settings:
Each Modbus setting can be configured for Global use or can be individually set for each address/entry
Mode: Modbus ASCII (7-bit) or Modbus RTU (8-bit)
Stop bits : 1
Baud rate: 50 to 19,200
Parity: odd, even, none
Communications Response time out: 0 to 65535 msec
Communications Start Delay: 0 to 65535 msec
Communications End Delay: 0 to 65535 msec
Communications Retry Limit: 0 to 65535 retries
Read data type: 3x (Modbus code 4) or 4x (Modbus code 3)
Write data type: 4x (Modbus code 16)
Status Information:
Each address/entry has poll status
Fault codes
Communications Network:
Modbus port can be configured for RS-232 or RS-485
The Modbus Polling can be done over hardwire, radio, leased or dial-up phone lines, satellite link, etc.
Communications with SCADA software is Modbus ethernet TCP/IP
Dialup Modbus Polling:
Each address/entry can accept a phone number for dialup polling
Successive addresses/entries having the same phone number will automatically complete polling and not hangup until an address/entry with a new phone number is to be polled
